"When I think about Brooklyn Children’s Theatre, the first thing that comes to mind isn’t the stage or the performances, it’s the people. It’s the community that I didn’t even realize I needed until I found it.There was a time when I felt really lost. I didn’t fully know where I belonged, or where I fit in. And then I came here, and slowly, things started to change. Brooklyn Children’s Theatre became a place where I could just exist as myself, without feeling like I had to be anyone else. What makes this place so special is the friendships. The people I’ve met here aren’t just castmates, they’ve become some of the most important people in my life. They’re the ones who make rehearsals feel like something to look forward to, who support you when you’re doubting yourself, and who celebrate you even in the smallest moments.
Being surrounded by people who genuinely care about each other is something really rare, and I found that here. This community became a light for me when I didn’t have one. On days when I felt off, or unsure, or just not like myself, coming here reminded me that I wasn’t alone. It gave me something steady to hold onto, a place where I knew I was accepted and valued. And through all of that, I grew. Not just as a performer, but as a person. I became more confident, more open, and more willing to take chances, because I knew I had people behind me.Brooklyn Children’s Theatre isn’t just a program—it’s a family. It’s a place where people lift each other up, where friendships are built, and where you can find yourself again when you feel lost. And I’m so, so grateful that I found it."
